After graduating with a degree in film from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco in 2013, I became a Creative Director working for a few video production agencies.
Clients would come to us seeking a video for a specific need, such as a 30-second Youtube commercial, or most commonly, a Kickstarter video to help launch their product.
As a Creative Director I had many responsibilities. It started with getting to know the client, their product and goals & vision for their video. Then, it was up to me to ideate creative ideas to pitch to them. Generally, I would oversee our projects from beginning to end, ensuring we were meeting the vision and client’s message every step of the way. More specifically I would conceptualize, script-write, storyboard, audition and hire talent, manage team members, project manage and sometimes edit.
Below you’ll see a sample of the videos I directed. Because the agencies I worked for were small, some videos I even edited or Art Directed.
(As an Art Director I was responsible for the color palette, props and general physical look and feel of the set).
